In a Twitter message on the occasion of World Handicraft Day on June 10, Mounesan wrote on Wednesday that the figure was gained thanks to the efforts made by our dear artists and industrialists, particularly the artist women, who comprise a major part of the workers in this field.
Although the pandemic decreased the growth in this field, we can hope that the current trend will not be halted and that the Iranian artists have found their way to the international markets, he added.
Mounesan also said that one of the important events during last year for the country’s handicrafts was the national and international registration of craft cities and villages of Iran at the World Crafts Council.
Such registration has helped development in the area of handicrafts and the creation of sustainable employment, the minister noted.
